If there’s one thing we hate it is wrapping our kiddo’s bodies in plastic. So, for me kids’ cotton socks are non-negotiables.

While synthetic pairs can be temptingly affordable and easy to find, comfort and safety should never take a back seat, especially when it comes to your kiddo’s tootsies.

In this guide, I listed 11 fantastic children’s cotton socks to help keep those little feet happy, rash-free, and comfortable.

P.S. For more amazing options, check out The 40 Best Sustainable Kids Clothing Brands!

Kids Cotton Socks From Sustainable Brands!

Socks are wrapped around your kiddo’s toes pretty much 24/7. We all know the suffocating feeling some synthetic materials can bring. They can be a nightmare for sensitive skin – itchiness, irritation, and all-around discomfort are pretty much guaranteed.

As a kid, I used to get eczema flare-ups regularly from my overly cute polyester socks that managed to cause overheating, sweating, and irritation after every activity.

That’s because, unlike cotton socks for kids, synthetic fabrics don’t breathe well, which means moisture gets trapped inside, leaving your mini-me’s feet feeling extra sweaty. Allergic contact dermatitis is also very common in kids.

So, much like natural kids underwear, children’s cotton socks are must-haves in every sustainable children’s wardrobe. As we previously explained in our organic cotton fabric guide, this natural material is hypoallergenic and completely free from nasty chemicals.

What’s more, cotton is moisture-wicking which means that it will keep little feet dry and comfy, whether your kids are tearing up the playground or lounging around the house. Plus, they’re sensory-friendly, so they won’t set off any alarm bells for those kiddos who are extra sensitive to textures.

To help you keep those tootsies happy and comfy, we made a list of kids cotton socks for all ages and activities.

Is it possible to get 100% cotton socks for kids?

Nope, not really. Socks need to be stretchy, so the addition of a small number of stretchy materials is here to make kids cotton socks less likely to sag or lose their shape over time, which is always a win in my book.

So, while you might not find socks that are 100% cotton, there are plenty of options out there that blend cotton with a touch of polyamide and/or elastane to give them that extra bit of stretch.

The Best Kids Cotton Socks for Healthy Feet:

The brand has added a seamless toe that prevents chafing, and a Y-stitched heel that cups the foot for a snug fit.

Another thing that I love about Lucky & Me’s kids cotton socks is the “stay-up technology” that prevents sliding down or bunching around the ankles.

You can find monochromatic ankle socks and multi-colored ankle and crew sock bundles.

To top it all off, Lucky & Me’s WRAP, Sedex, or SA8000 certified manufacturing partners are based in India, Sri Lanka, and Turkey.
