Here’s a number that might surprise you.
It takes 713 gallons of water to make one non-organic cotton T-shirt. That’s enough drinking water for one person for over two years.
And cotton is just getting started. While it only takes up 2.5% of the world’s farmland, conventional cotton consumes 16% of the world’s insecticides, more than any other crop.
